  16. The Amateur Radio Service Joint Resolution, H. J. Res. 199, now has
  17. a majority of the US House of Representatives as cosponsors.  On
  18. April 11, four additions to the list of cosponsors brought the total
  19. to 220, (of which three are non voting delegates).

  21. The four are: Rep. James Talent (R-MO), Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton
  22. (D-DC), Rep. Thomas Ridge (R-PA), and Rep. Don Young (R-AK).

  24. The Resolution seeks formal recognition of the value of Amateur
  25. Radio to the country, would support Amateur Radio as ''national
  26. policy,'' and would encourage rules and regulations to facilitate
  27. Amateur Radio as a public benefit by encouraging new technologies.

  29. Including Resolution sponsor Jim Cooper (D-TN), the total number of
  30. voting sponsors is now 218.  There are currently 434 Representatives
  31. in the House.
